Our Youth Program

At St. Jacob’s, we promote development of young people and offer them a place to learn, grow, and play together in a fun and faith-filled environment.  We try to have a good mix of fun outings, learning, and service.  Our youth often hold fundraising events to support programs in the wider church and to support local ministry efforts.

On Sunday mornings, our children and youth meet to learn about the same Bible passages that are read in worship that day, in a fun and creative setting.  Our hope is that families can go home and discuss the same text all of them have learned about that day.

Our little ones also have a place where they can enjoy more simple play such as swinging, sliding and climbing. A safe place with friends is what our playground offers.

Youth Events

Our past events have included:

  • a car wash to raise money for Christmas gifts for local children in need
  • serving at a local clothes closet and the Salvation Army emergency shelter
  • fun trips to the water park, snow tubing, and ziplining!
  • playing on the basketball court at the church
  • Virginia Synod youth events like 7th Day (5th-6th grade), Lost & Found (7th-8th grade), Winter Celebration (9th-12th grade), and KAIROS (summer week-long for 9th-12th grade)
