Palm / Passion Sunday – March 20
We will remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem where the people welcomed him as a king. But then we will learn how quickly the same crowds demanded his death, as we hear the Passion according to Luke.
The Three Days
Maundy Thursday – March 24
7:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church
This service remembers Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples and includes Individual Confession & Forgiveness, Footwashing,
and the Stripping of the Altar.
Good Friday – March 25
7:00pm at St. Jacob’s
This service remembers Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion (the Passion), and includes hearing the Passion according to John, praying for the crucified world, and reflecting on the Cross of Jesus Christ.
Resurrection of Our Lord, Vigil of Easter
Saturday, March 26 – Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, 7:00pm
This service begins in Woodbine Cemetery with the New Fire, from which we light candles and proceed into a dark church to hear the Easter Proclamation and the story of God saving his people time and again. It continues with Baptism or Affirmation of Baptism and the first celebration of the Resurrection.
